35 COVID-19 POSITIVE IN THE NILGIRIS

The Nilgiris Collector Innocent Divya said on Wednesday night that four persons from Tuesday’s list were shifted to other districts thereby reducing the total infected to 1,085.
However, 35 persons tested positive during the day thereby taking the total to 1,120.
On Wednesday, four persons were discharged thereby taking the total discharged so far to 956.
As four persons had died earlier, the active cases now under treatment stand at 160.
Of the 35 who tested positive on Wednesday, as many as 16 are contacts of a person who had come from Mettupalayam; while 15 of them live in Banahatty village, one lives in Sakkatha in Kotagiri taluk.
Seven are contacts of a person returning from Chennai and they live in Anikorai and Kairben.
Three are contacts of persons coming from Coimbatore and they live in Aruvankadu and Kil Kotagiri.
Five are contacts of persons already tested positive in their respective areas in Government quarters in Coonoor, Thuneri, Wellington and Bedford in Coonoor.
The other four are visitors from Thirunelveli, Perambalur, Hosur and Coimbatore districts and likely to be shifted to their respective districts.
