The deceased was a female aged 57 who was admitted to a private hospital at 11.40 pm on Aug 12 but she died at 2.34 am on Friday due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, pneumonia with COVID-19.
Of the 46 who tested positive on Friday, 13 are contacts of persons coming from Coimbatore and they live in Banahatty, New Agraharam in Ooty, Mullikorai, Gandhi Nagar in Ooty, Jackoldai, Aravenu and Katary Dam
Eight are contacts of persons coming from Mettupalayam and they live in Kappachi, Main Bazar, Kotagiri, Getticombai and Kallatty.
one living near Rose Garden in Ooty is a contact of a person coming from Bengaluru and another in Stone House Ooty is a contact of a person coming from Theni.
Seven persons who had come for work to Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, from different districts tested positive.
Some are likely to be shifted to other districts as they live elsewhere.
The rest are contacts of persons who had already rested positive in their respective areas.
