134 ACTIVE CASES IN THE NILGIRIS

The Nilgiris Collector Innocent Divya said on Wednesday evening that 23 persons tested positive to COVID-19 taking the total infected to 990.
Four persons were discharged taking the total discharged to 853.
As three persons had died earlier, the active cases under treatment are 134.
The Collector said that of the 23 cases testing positive on Wednesday, as many as eight are contacts of persons returning from Coimbatore. They are living in Gudalur, Aruvankadu, Ooty, Nedugula and Kerada.
Three are contacts of persons returning from Mettupalayam and they are living in Nanjanadu, Kappachi and Kannerimukku villages.
Three living in Main Bazar of Ooty are contacts of a person returning from Theni.
Three in Kotagiri are contacts of persons coming from different districts.
Two living in Gudalur are contacts of a person coming from Madurai.
A woman aged 52 in Bengalmattom is contact of a person who had attended wedding in Thangadu Oranalli.
The others have developed infection from persons already testing positive in their respective areas and some are likely to be shifted to the list of other districts.
