47 DISCHARGED IN THE NILGIRIS:
40 NEW CASES ON FRIDAY

A ray of hope prevailed in The Nilgiris on Saturday with the Collector Innocent Divya leading her frontrunner team in according a memorable send-off to 47 persons to their homes as they were declared to be fully cured from COVID-19.
The Collector said that they had undergone treatment at the camp in Good Shepherd International School in Ooty and in Government Hospital Coonoor.
She handed over bagful of fruits, Kapasura drinking water and face masks to each of them to take home.
She said that with this, the total number of persons who had been discharged fully cured in the district has risen to 163.
She expressed happiness that the persons are returning home fully cured and said that those undergoing treatment now will also return home fully cured.
On Saturday night, the Collector said that one person from Friday’s list was shifted to another district thereby reducing the total infected to 370.
However, 40 persons were confirmed positive on Saturday thereby taking the total to 410.
Of the 40, the Collector said, 14 persons had attended a wedding in Thangadu Oranalli village. They live in Manjanakorai, Athikkal, Kadanad, Kundah, Meekeri and Anikorai.
As many as 11 are contacts of the employee of a private company who had already tested positive and they live in Karakorai, Thummanatty, Kodappamund and Ooty.
Five living in Mount Pleasant, Coonoor, had attended a function in Ottupattrai.
Seven persons had got infected from persons who had visited Coimbatore and they live in Wellington, Kotagiri and Hulikkal.
Others have got infected from persons who had come from other districts and states.
