130 CORONA CASEA AND TWO DEATHS IN THE NILGIRIS ..
SINGLE DAY’S HIGHEST SPIKE BREACHING 100-MARK

Sunday turned out to be a day of concern for the residents of The Nilgiris as the number of positive cases of Covid-19 rose breached for the first time the 100-mark and rose to 130.
This was the highest spike in a single day so far. This took the total infected to 2,968.
On Sunday, 60 persons were discharged thereby taking the total discharged so far to 2,282.
Two persons’ death was included in Sunday’s list. Of them one was a 67 year old man admitted to Govt HQ Hospital in Ooty at 5.25 pm on Sept 15 died at 4.50 pm on Sep 18 due to Covid-19 pneumonia.
The other was a 53 year old man with type 2 diabetes and diabetic foot admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Coimbatore, at 1.45 pm on Sept 11 died at 10.30 am on Sep 18 due to bilateral broncho pneumonia, type 2 diabetes, diabetic foot, plus Covid-19.
This took the total death toll to 20.
This left 666 active cases.
